“ About 40 years ago I suffered a Potts fracture and a pin put in my ankle, which is still there. As I have got older it has caused me problems and about 10 years ago I had an operation to improve the symptoms, unfortunately it was unsuccessful and I was informed that it would need to be fused, hence I would have no manoeuvrability. It was very painful, swollen and purple in colour.
